Something special happened tonight. President Medders invited the campus up to his house for hot chocolate and a few of us, about fifteen or so, stayed with him in his study until just past midnight. It was a time of huge encouragement for me (and, I daresay, for many others in the room). Prez sat with us for several hours and just poured out wisdom and encouragement onto us. It was so refreshing.
It was just so comforting and relaxing and refreshing to sit in his study and listen to him talk. I was reminded, in a less spiritual way, of course, of Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus in Luke 10. I just felt like the rest of the world shut off for a few hours and we soaked in what was going through his brain. It was definitely a pivotal moment in my semester and probably my Bethany career.
I would love to write this in a more detailed, eloquent way, to somehow get across to you the feeling of the room and the depth of the experience, but for now it will stay in my mind and my heart.
